Mannathu
Padmanaphan formed the "Nayar Bhrithya Jana Sangham" in 1914
. His intention was to reform the Nair Society and to help this community
to make great contributions to society by associating with other organizations.
The first All Kerala Nair meeting was held in 1916. In 1940, the N.S.S
Headquarters was established in Perunna. The dreams of having schools
and colleges came true with the help of N.S.S. There are large numbers
of colleges, hospitals and other charitable organizations that function
under the N.S.S. Karayogams (local units of N.S.S) are found throughout
the length and breath of Kerala. |

Changanachery
is an important centre of Catholics in Kerala. The Changanachery arch
diocese includes Alappuzha, Kottayam, Pathanamthitta, Kollam, Thiruvananthapuram
districts of Kerala and Kanyakumari district in Tamil Nadu. This diocese
has 13 Forane churches and more than 300 smaller churches. |

Changanacherry Anandashram
was founded in 1903. There are 46 branches working under this Union. At
the golden Jubilee celebrations of this union, 201 houses were built and
given to the poor. |
